Crockpot Mulled Wine

Ingredients

750ml
bottle red wine
¼
cup
sugar, optional
1½
cups
orange juice
2
strips
orange zest
orange wedges for garnish
2-3
cinnamon sticks
3
whole star anise
4-5
whole cloves
Instructions
Wrap the spices in a small square of cheesecloth, or a coffee filter if you don't have cheesecloth. Secure with kitchen twine.
2-3 cinnamon sticks,
3 whole star anise,
4-5 whole cloves
In a Crockpot combine the red wine, sugar, if using, orange juice, zest, and the spice sachet.
1 750ml bottle red wine,
¼ cup sugar, optional,
2 strips orange zest,
1½ cups orange juice
Cook on low heat until warm, about 1 hour. Adjust the slow cooker setting to "warm". Serve in mugs garnished with an orange wedge.
